"The Early Evening Rush: In every difficulty, lies an opportunity"

Rephrasing a famous adage, "If you can't join it, don't beat it either!" So, here I am, while all the wheels are beating each other to rush home, I had decided to just rush to the nearest cafe. I was the 45th in the line of passengers waiting for the next shuttle going to Marikina and boy it had been 10 minutes and no shuttle had come. So, I'd rather spend the waiting period updating my "left-out" blog with stories that had already been piling up.

First, I'd like to thank Yolynne Medina for mentioning my blog in "The Filipina Images (Reshaping the Filipina Image Online)" and other blogs. I'm so glad to discover other wholesome and informative sites about Filipinas or Pinays over the internet. You are a rich woman in your own way. And as I was browsing along, I found a set of advises about "Handling Financial Stress" by a very industrious lady in a blog entitled "The Life of a Breadwinner (a proud Filipina's continued quest in providing for her family...). I know everyone passes through that stage of being "broke" once or more in life. Even Donald Trump, Larry Gamboa and Trace Trajano passed through that stage too. But that is just a phase. If we keep on aiming to be financially free, it eventually happens. Hearing advises and stories about it give us a tap in our shoulder, "Hey you are not alone. Keep moving forward."

Speaking of being "broke", how do I deal with that too? So, here are additions to what Edelweiza had mentioned in that blog...

1. Of course, find a solution, a source of income to solve the money problem (if you don't have one). Right now, I am full time in buying and selling Real Estate properties and sometimes, acquiring great deals turn out slow... so I accepted a Real Estate marketing job to receive something fixed monthly + commissions, as I continue doing my business.

2. Discipline myself on spending. Stretch the peso, as they say.

3. Invest to multiply cash on hand. Money for investment must be set aside at once, just like savings, upon receiving the income. Then, live on the remaining amount. Easier said than done? Yes, but that's how it must be. I am in the same process of learning to discipline myself.

4. One of my mentors, Mr. Rodolfo Torres, said, "Don't just budget because no matter how you budget, if the income is so small to fit the basic needs, nothing remains. Learn how to increase your income." That's the challenging part but it's very possible. What we can reach is as big as what we can imagine.

5. Last, but as important, open it up to God. "Ask and you shall receive. Act and you shall achieve". He is a great buddy! Be up close and personal with him. :D

It's hard to go with being "broke" but if you have a friend/s and a God to share it to, you learn to discover that in every difficulty there actually lies an opportunity... We learn to cry. We learn to ask. We are stretched beyond our comfort zone. We discover more of ourself... And we learn to appreciate "little things" that bring happiness, most especially the "free stuff" like friendships and intimate relationships. :)

"Think Rich, Pinays! Think Rich, Pinoys!"

If you don't know where to start, Start Here.

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to share with you one of the things that triggers my zest for life! Yes, "Zest"! Meaning... enthusiasm, passion and energy! How would you like to wake up and sleep with that yummy smile on your face?! Yes, it's ok to smile even if you're alone... Anyway you do that sometimes right? Why not everyday? :)

Here it is...

Two weeks ago I mentioned to Larry that I wanted to create a new vision board. My last vision board got torn due to unexpected circumstances. :) He just gave a plain look (yes, there's something's going on inside his head) and asked me "When are you going to do it?" I said, "I plan to do it anytime soon, on a weekend." The week after, when our regular Wednesday meeting at Greenbelt had ended, he excitedly showed me the book entitled "The Complete Vision Board Kit" by John Assaraf. A small voice in my head butted in... "Making a vision board is rather simple... I don't want to delay it by reading... nor complicate it with more coaching questions... I had done my homework." Yet another voice is telling, "Hmmm... the package looks cute, what does it contain? Maybe it can set the mood for it..." Larry showed the DVD, a small book and a sample Vision Board. Then he said, "Why don't we do it on Friday, after our meetings?" Guess what I said? A resounding "Yes!" It's aligned with my plan and I'll get to watch the DVD. I was more excited to watch than to read. :)

And there it went, to give you a summary of what I heard from John Assaraf, here is a list of the important advises I got from him:

1. The "what" comes before the "how".
2. Are my goals worthy of my Life? Is the trade I'm doing worthy?
3. Start with a vision then put pillars (action).
4. Our beliefs come from 50% heritage and 50% from experience. We pick up everything that surrounds us - anxiety, doubts, fears, positive thoughts, excitement, etc. It's important to surround ourselves with positive things.
5. Take action. If you don't take action, nothing will happen.
6. Don't share your vision with people who do not understand. Share it with people who do.
7. Have different strategies.
8. Become more than what you are before - from inside out.
9. We do not see with our eyes. Use visualizations, affirmations, etc.
10. Create your circumstances by altering your thinking, behavior and how you feel about yourself.
11. Within you is the essence that created you (and that creates you).
12. If what you want is different from your current result, get out of your comfort zone.
13. Do whatever it takes so that when you finish you'll say, "Yeah! What a journey! That was phenomenal!" You owe it to yourself.

The vision board is the starting point to get the focus and to take action on the things that you want or the dreams that make you excited.

Here's mine...

Can't view the slide show? Here's what's inside:
- Be the best wife ever!
- Serve meals that I cooked with passion inside my dream family home
- Have a happy family with 3 to 5 kids
- Give my parents sufficient monthly pension for life such that they need not work
- Share valuable lessons I learned in life to help others
- Deliver valuable and heart-touching speeches or seminars
- Experience home in every part of the world
- Experience being a great dancer (Jazz or Dancesport) and wear high heels!

My professional dreams
- Be an expert Internet Marketeer
- Create a magazine
- Earn passive income
- Transform stinky houses to dream homes

Other crazy dreams:
- Be a fashion model. I wonder if it's really every girl or woman's fantasy? hahaha
- Be a host and interview people
- Others - I'll keep in my secret pouch muna. :)

What are yours?

Last Friday I also got to watch a few minutes of Prof. Randy Pausch video entitled "The Last Lecture". He showed how he accomplished his childhood dreams before he died like experience "Zero gravity in space", "Be in the National Football League", etc.

Your life and your dream are truly yours, make your vision board as crazy as you can and trust the process. Don't worry about the "how". As experts say, the "what" comes before the "how". For now, linger on your dreams everyday, then take action.

Have a fantabulous (fantastic and fabulous) day!

Rich Pinay
P.S.
Now that I had placed my dreams in my vision board, I can clearly linger on these dreams in the morning and at night... Everything I am doing right now that I am allowing myself to experience, the time, the money and the efforts - I am willing to trade to get all of my dreams. And I am sharing them to you so that you too can again dream like a child - no qualms. Simply go for your dream no matter how silly you think it is. Even if you might fail before you reach it. It's totally ok. Stick to your dream. And, remember, ask it from God or be open for something better...

Thought for the Day:

Matthew 17:20 says, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

Ready, Fire! Aim… aim… aim… I am now launching ThinkRichPinay.com!

I am a Think Rich Pinoy Franchisee. I began buying properties at the age of 28, that was last year, without money on my pocket. My mentor Trace had mentioned it bluntly, I was broke. Thanks to my mother, we have a family business that gave me a good financial record. :) That gave me the credibility to borrow or buy properties from banks, at least.

I am not a writer… still becoming one. :)

And why did I launch this blog? Because one of my mentors, Larry Gamboa, always tell me after every significant experience I had, (Oh, for a first-time Real Estate entrepreneur, almost everything is significant), “Make sure you write that in your journal… the situation, your learnings, and the things you did.” Larry is so fond of writing in a journal that he swayed me to try it. Now, I am not just fond of writing in my journal but doing Artist’s dates as well. He recommended to me the book “The Artist’s Way” (by Julia Cameron) which teaches how to form the habit of writing in a journal and treating ourselves on a weekly date.

I had been into difficult, intimidating and challenging situations, failed transactions, rejected offers, and successful transactions (in fairness). There is always only one thing he would recommend, “Make sure you write that in your journal.” Being the open-minded and trusting girl that I am, I followed his advice. But sometimes I couldn’t help but to think out loud, “Why?”. “For documentation purposes…”, he would say. But he hadn’t collected them yet anyway. I haven't read my past journals either so my Real Estate journal experiences are technically… there… just rotting in my notebooks. I know it would help me to look at these past events, especially my past success stories. It could remind me of my successful ways. But, as I look back and as I write new sets of experiences, I want to share my notebook over the net to all budding Real Estate entrepreneurs and other kinds of entrepreneurs. My writing then wouldn’t just be an outlet for clearing my head but also a good resource for you guys who are curious and riding in the same boat.

Some of you had read my mentors’ writings. Some of you had read about our sweet success stories. But what’s behind those successes are equally important or even more important stories you must know… Series of battles we had won. Goliaths of fear and blocks we had conquered. Maybe, you’ll learn something from how I (as well as my other co-franchisees) do things. We’re in the same boat. And maybe, you can also support me along the way…

Think Rich, Pinoys and Pinays!

Welcome to my blog!
